The External Programme

Over 34,000 students are registered with and study through the External Programme in more than 180 countries across the world, making London one of the largest universities in the United Kingdom. The University's External Programme was established in 1858 to make University of London degrees accessible to students who, for one reason or another, could not come to the University to study in the conventional way. Studying through the External Programme provides an attractive option for those with financial constraints, commitments to work or family, or lack of local access to higher education.

The introduction of short individual course options for career and continuing professional development adds a new dimension to the flexibility offered by the University.
